I’m Kat Bullshit, site admin and co-host of the Podcastodon. You may have known me by other names in the past. That’s good. People need to be confused.

What this blog is for

Mainly stuff we can’t fit into the actual show - thoughts that are too short, tangents that had to be cut, or things that don’t fit the conversational format. Some stuff here might show up in episodes later.

Technical notes

Here’s some stuff I discovered while trying to get this blog working to my satisfaction:

1. If you’re on NixOS, you might be tempted to use Nix to package gems. It’s much easier to just use bundler.
2. jekyll-compose is the plugin that lets you make a post with a nice timestamp.
3. Look at this for custom theme stuff.
4. Theme used: this - mainly because it matches the browser-default look of the front page
