Gecko’s notes

  • “Want some rye? ‘Course you do.” Is a reference to Return to Zork, which Gecko learned about via Day9’s Mostly Walking series.
  • For more on hypernormalization, watch “Hypernormalization,” by Adam Curtis

Kat’s notes

  • Sadly the Backstroke of the West dub seems to be gone from youtube, but you can watch some highlights here.
  • I tried to find who G.S. was, nothing conclusive. Danbooru claims it was done by pixiv user as109 but the pixiv link is dead so idk
  • For my own future use - 17:44 - “woods or woods-like vegetation”

DEATH IS HOBOS

The Good Elephant

Chinese: 好象[sic]. The character 像 (image/likeness) is often colloquially (and strictly speaking, incorrectly) replaced by 象 (elephant) in Simplified Chinese. This causes the translation of 好像 (looks like / seems) as “good elephant”.
